The image “Cologne” was inspired by a visit to Cologne Cathedral where its vast dark interior space pierced by colourful stained-glass widows and the gothic gargoyles perched high on its towers left a lasting impression.
For this image two base photographs, a window and a gargoyle are used. Other layers were comprise of coloured textures made by applying filters over the window image (a few are shown in the illustration below). You will also note that by the mirroring of images symmetry is created in the composition. The final picture can be seen on the left-hand image viewer.
